Hi I’m Jo, the one women band behind Jo Frances arts. Although I can’t take all the credit for what happens on these pages but I will talk more about them in this blog. I’m a wife and a mum to two beautiful and joyful boys who keep me on my toes. I’ve been drawing, painting creating since I was old enough to hold a pencil and give a lot of credit to my dear old Nan, who was also called Frances, and I share my middle name with her. I’m a huge animal lover, coffee drinker, I love my own company but also love socialising.
About Me and my art
Hi, I’m Jo. I just wanted to give you a quick background of who I am. Previously I ran my own business as a dog Walker, small pet carer/home boarding, dog groomer, animal first aider…you get the picture. I’ve have a few job titles to add to my belt.
When I’m not spending time with my wonderful kids and husband, I love drawing and painting animals, landscapes, floral and fauna and take inspiration from everything around me. I think my love and background working with animals and being out in nature has really shaped my art and how I view the world. When I was dog walking many years ago I drew all the dogs in my care and gave them as Christmas presents to my clients. This is how my pet portraits started. I only did it as a small hobby, something I could do around my first son. But I’ve always had this desire to become a full time Artisit. And now I’m finally realising my dreams.
I used to work a lot in watercolour but now I’ve gone back to acrylic and last year my Husband Mr B brought me an IPad so I’ve been dabbling in digital portraits as well.
I also love home projects, diy, especially as we’ve just brought our first home which is a doer upper. I’m a bit fanatic about organising, storage etc and we’re a family of campers, which is currently another new project. I really hope you love spending time in this space as much as I love writing in here.
